We are excited to announce that Dr. Elise Bixby of NYU will be presenting on Pediatric and Adolescent ACL Reconstructions - What's the Fuss?

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

1. The participant will be able to demonstrate understanding of the increased risk of ACL retear in kids and adolescents after ACL reconstruction.

2. The participant should be able to identify and recognize risk factors for ACL retears in kids and adolescents.

3. The participant should be able to describe different types of ACL reconstructions used in skeletally immature patients.

4. Identify the pros & cons of adding a lateral extra-articular tenodesis to an ACL reconstruction.

SPEAKER BIO:

Dr. Elise C. Bixby, MD is a distinguished orthopedic surgeon based in New York, New York. She earned her medical degree from the prestigious Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. With 6 to 10 years of experience in the field, Dr. Bixby has developed a robust expertise in diagnosing and treating conditions related to the muscles, bones, and joints.

Dr. Bixby specializes in orthopedic sports medicine and pediatric orthopedics, offering comprehensive care for sports injuries, degenerative diseases, tumors, infections, and congenital conditions. She is proficient in performing joint repair and replacement surgeries, ensuring her patients receive the highest standard of care.

Dr. Bixby completed her residency in orthopedic surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital (Columbia Campus) from 2017 to 2022. She holds active medical licenses in North Carolina, Massachusetts, and New York.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Bixby is committed to staying current with the latest advancements in orthopedic medicine. She is fluent in English and accepts a wide range of insurance plans, including Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross, and United Healthcare.
